File · The back wallMember lockers

Your own bottle,
your own cigars.

Membership at West End Elixir is a private locker built into the back wall of the bar at 107 S Main Street in Historic Downtown Bryan, TX. Your own bottle inside, room for a personal humidor box of cigars, and 24-hour access to the lounge. It is limited, unadvertised, and runs on a handshake with the owner. There is no online tier ladder and no application form.

What membership is.

A locker on the back wall

Membership is your own wooden cabinet on the back wall of the bar. Inside it goes your own bottle, whatever you drink: bourbon, rye, mezcal, Scotch. There is no pour fee on your own bottle. The bar stirs it, ices it, and pours it for you, and the bottle stays yours.

A locker also has room for a personal humidor box, so your cigars keep on the back wall next to your bottle. And it comes with 24-hour access to the lounge. The room is open to you on your own schedule, not only during regular bar hours.

A handshake, not a form.

How it works

Membership is limited and unadvertised. It runs on a handshake with owner Dustin Batson, not on a webpage. There is no online tier ladder, no application portal, and no form to fill out. A small number of members are added each year, and the plan is to keep doing that for ten years.

So there is one way to ask. Come in, take a stool, and ask Dustin. He works the bar most nights. The conversation happens in person, over the bar, the way the rest of it does.

What fits in a locker.

Bottle and cigars

Three things: your bottle or bottles, a personal humidor box of cigars, and the 24-hour lounge access that comes with the cabinet. The bar pours your bottle with no pour fee, and your cigars wait in the box for the next time you sit down.

You do not need a membership to drink or smoke here. The bar and the cigar lounge are open to every 21-and-up guest during regular hours, and the whiskey shelf and the humidor are stocked for everyone. Membership does not buy you in the door. It adds the locker and the hours.

The short answer.
